Community Integration Services provides aquatic experiences for people of all ages who have special developmental or physical needs including all spectrums of Autism. We help our clients access community pool facilities for recreation, rehabilitation,swimming and general fitness. Through adaptive equipment, personalized instructions, and the healing powers of the water, our clients experience greater independence and enjoyment of life.

Harriet E. Ott, CTRS, ATRIC - Aquatic Therapist
Harriet is owner and coordinator of all Community Integration Services Programs. She has extensive training and experience in a variety of therapeutic aquatic treatments and techniques. Her evaluation and assessment of all participants places them according to individual needs and goals, to remain active, safe, and participate to their maximum potential. Harriet is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Certified Aquatic Therapist (ATRIC), Certified in Ai Chi, and a WATSU practitioner.

Stacy Smith, CTRS, ATRIC - Aquatic Therapist
Stacy is also a Certified Recreation Therapist and Certified Aquatic Therapist. She has been working as an Aquatic Therapist for Community Integration Services since July 2005. She has spent many years in the water working with children with special needs, persons with disabilities, and leading Multiple Sclerosis and Aquatic therapy exercise classes. Stacy has taken aquatic trainings in WATSU 1, Ai Chi, Arthritis Foundation Certifications, and acquired 3 Water Art Certifications. Working with children with Autism and sensory integration techniques has become her specialty.

Sandy Karlek, ATRIC - Aquatic Therapist
Sandy is certified with ATRI as an Aquatic Therapist. She has a BA in Recreation and in addition she holds a “Senior Fitness Certification” from American Senior Fitness Association, and “Specialist in Exercise Therapy” from International Sports Science Association. Sandy is a specialist in exercise therapy with over 23 years of experience working with people from 2 to 92. She has a great understand of kinesiology and therapeutic exercise. Sandy has worked hand in had with therapists and physician to develop aquatic exercise programs for seniors, children, people suffering from chronic illness and special needs (specifically Autism). She has been working in the aquatic environment for many years. Sandy started with Community Integration Services in January 2013.

Lou Towner - Aquatic Specialist
Lou has volunteered with the MS group and the Body Tune Up Class that meets at Bellevue Aquatic Center for the last year. She has discovered a passion for the water while working with the people with special needs. She has a background of many years with elderly and disabled children as a social worker. Lou has completed more then 40 hours of Aquatic Therapy course work on the following: Introduction to Aquatic Therapy, Hip, Knee and Gait rehabilitation, Basic Watsu, Beyond Arthritis, Teaching Children with Autism and Special Needs to Swim, Three Case Studies in Aquatic, and Ai Chi Fall prevention. Lou started with Community Integration Services in December 2009.
